Description:
This project seeks to support the development of more robust humanitarian financial data in order to effectively improve the sufficiency and efficiency of assistance provided by humanitarian organizations in the context of the Syria Crisis. This project represents the first phase of a two-phase project. This project focuses on the Syria Crisis, and aims to establish an evidence base on the types, forms, and amounts spent of predictable and flexible humanitarian funding, and further develop an understanding on the needs of, and resources for, vulnerable populations, especially women and girls in the context of the Syria Crisis. Project activities include: (1) developing analyses to further better understand the issues with using and collecting data on multi-year funding; (2) carrying out additional analyses to provide better data on crisis-affected populations separated by gender and age; and (3) mapping resources dedicated to addressing gender-based violence programs, focusing on the Syria Crisis.

The expected outcomes for this project include: (1) improved quality of data on predictable and flexible humanitarian funding; (2) developed a more robust comprehension of predictable and flexible funding spent on gender-based violence programs, particularly within the context of the Syria Crisis; and (3) supported evidence-based decision-making on predictable and flexible funding spent on gender-based violence programs, focusing on the Syria Crisis.
