Grants and Contributions:
The 2018-2020 Business Plan outlines expected results in six thematic areas:
1. Improve the integration of early childhood development (ECD) into national WCAH policies, services and programmes – ECD programming is integrated into 5-10 existing national WCAH policies, services and programs.
2. Improve adolescent health and well-being: 5-10 national plans for adolescents developed with support provided to national youth-led coalitions to strengthen skills and knowledge of adolescents to exercise their rights to make informed choices.
3. Improve quality, equity and dignity in UHC services to improve WCAH: QED integrated into national plans in 5-10 Quality of Care Network countries, and support provided to 5 QED related campaigns at national and global levels to improve WCAH.
4. Improve the integration of sexual and reproductive health and rights in UHC: A comprehensive, integrated definition of SRHR is agreed upon and the inclusion of the essential sexual and reproductive health interventions will be integrated in national health plans in 5-10 countries.
5. Increase advocacy for the empowerment of women, girls and communities: Women, children and adolescents are supported as agents of change; fostering community engagement by promoting laws, policies and social norms that advance WCAH and rights.
6. Improve the integration WCAH in humanitarian and fragile settings (HFS): Alignment, adoption and promotion of WCAH essential services in programmes and interventions will be integrated in 5-10 HFS.
The main purpose on the International Development Assistance Program is to reduce poverty for those living in countries where Global Affairs Canada engages in international development.
