Description:
P007020001: This project aims to reduce disparities in learning and academic achievement for girls from 6 to 12 years old in the first cycle of primary education in the regions of Mopti and Ségou. Project activities include: (1) providing conditional financial assistance to targeted vulnerable families to support girls’ education; (2) implementing innovative initiatives to improve the safety, protection and transportation of students, especially girls; (3) developing a digital teaching-support platform that has gender-sensitive educational and instructional tools and resources; and (4) holding training workshops for teachers on the content of a new curriculum and on inclusive and gender-responsive teaching. This project will benefit 44,500 people, including teachers, parents and community/religious leaders, 57% of them women. P007020002: This project supports activities to meet the needs of the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic in Mali. This project aims to reduce disparities in learning and academic achievement for girls from 6 to 12 years old in the first cycle of primary education in the regions of Mopti and Ségou. Project activities related to COVID-19 aim to raise awareness of good health practices in order to mitigate the impacts of the pandemic. This project will benefit 44,500 people, including teachers, parents and community, religious leaders, 57% of them women.

Expected Results:

P007020001 & P007020002: The expected outcomes for this project include: (1) better retention of and academic achievement by girls in the first cycle of primary education in the regions of Mopti and Ségou; and (2) improved quality and gender sensitivity of the primary education system.
