This project supports Operation STONE, which aims to strengthen national capacities in the Bahamas, Jamaica and Panama, to detect and respond to security incidents involving nuclear or radiological materials. Project activities include: (1) delivering training to law enforcement, customs, nuclear regulators and other stakeholder agencies; and (2) facilitating national efforts to establish inter-agency working groups to better prepare for a possible security incident involving nuclear or radiological materials.

The expected outcome for this project is greater awareness and increased preparedness by stakeholder agencies of Panama, Jamaica and the Bahamas of the threat presented by the illicit trafficking of nuclear or radiological materials through these major seaport countries.
