Description:
This project aims to strengthen the rights, agency, and well-being of marginalized, ethnic, and conflict-affected people of Myanmar, especially women and girls. Activities include: (1) delivering training to health workers, including training on sexual and reproductive health rights; (2) providing crisis support services for survivors of gender-based violence; (3) facilitating dialogue, workshops, and trainings to strengthen coordination of healthcare among providers and networks; (4) coordinating community awareness events and disseminating awareness material on health, human rights, women's rights, media, security issues & environmental protection; (5) supporting the distribution of news, including on human rights issues, from conflict-affected and ethnic areas; and (6) facilitating training in basic journalism, conflict sensitive journalism, journalism ethics, television & radio, and community-led media programming.

Expected Results:

The expected outcomes of this project include: 1) Increased use of gender-responsive quality health services by marginalized, conflict-affected and ethnic people, particularly women and girls; 2) Strengthened coordination between ethnic civil society and other stakeholders at local, regional and national levels, to ensure sustainable and equitable access to resources and services by all, particularly women and girls; and 3) Enhanced participation in public leadership, decision-making, and democratic processes by marginalized, conflict-affected and ethnic people, particularly women and girls.
