Description:
This project aims to enhance the engagement of Canadians, especially youth (aged between 12 and 18), in Canada’s international development efforts towards the achievement of the SDGs and FIAP, with a focus on gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls.
Project activities include: (1) Developing a knowledge platform; (2) Showcasing mobile exhibits; (3) Creating a mass media campaign; (4) Broadcasting documentary series.
The project aims to reach 1.3M youth, aged between 12-18, including girls, boys and gender minorities as well as hard-to-reach, indigenous and diaspora populations. IDEA also expects to reach 280,734 visible minority youth, 2,851 Indigenous youth, 2,782 diaspora youth.

Expected Results:
The expected outcomes for this project include: (1) Increased understanding by youth in Canada of international development issues and Canada’s efforts towards the achievement of the SDGs and FIAP; (2) Improved use of equitably distributed and accessible evidence-based, gender sensitive, international development learning products, including on the SDGs and FIAP, by youth in Canada.
