This project’s anticipated intermediate outcomes include: i) Expanded and improved delivery of an equitable productive safety net program to deliver cash-for-work and direct access to food for poor rural women, men and vulnerable children to improve health outcomes; ii) Improved and equitable shock responsiveness of the rural safety net program to improve health outcomes; iii) Improved systems, capacity development and program management support for kebele and woreda (ward and district-level government) implementers; and iv) Increased women’s voice, agency and economic empowerment, employment and independence. This project will be delivered in 408 rural woredas and target 8 million chronically food insecure people (51% women and girls) from 2.5 million climate-vulnerable rural households.
The main purpose on the International Development Assistance Program is to reduce poverty for those living in countries where Global Affairs Canada engages in international development.
