P012994001: The project aims to support more than 16,000,000 young people (particularly young women and youth with disabilities) with skills, enabling them to secure jobs, take on entrepreneurial opportunities, and undertake volunteer and advocacy efforts for climate action.?The project brings together youth-led organizations, civil society organizations, foundations, technology platforms, governments, and private sector partners, to support young people to develop and deliver on climate change adaptation and mitigation strategies through gender-responsive approaches. Project activities include: (1) strengthening the transferable skills of 10,000,000 youth on climate resilience and adaptation in their communities through volunteerism, skills development, workshops, and developing disaster risk reduction plans; (2) supporting 2,000,000 students to build climate resilience in their communities; (3) training 700,000 young people to develop green entrepreneurial mindsets and problem-solving skills in designing social enterprises. They aim to address the most pressing environmental challenges in their communities; (4) providing 400,000 young eco-entrepreneurs with access to opportunities for green skilling, advocacy, community engagement and pitching their green business ideas through a digital marketplace; and (5) strengthening the green skills of 3,000,000 young people through SMS technology. P012994002: This project aims to connect 4.6 million youth to skills development and job opportunities through Generation unlimited’s digital initiatives that equip youth for a better world. The initiative fosters skills development, online safety, and inclusive platforms for networking and accessing opportunities. It prepares youth for the rapidly evolving technology landscape, where artificial intelligence and innovation are redefining the future of work. The gender-responsive digital initiatives address systemic gender barriers, including lack of digital literacy, limited internet access, and stereotypes that discourages girls from pursuing tech and tech-enabled careers. The initiative aims to focus on three key pillars of Generation unlimited’s programming framework. This includes digital platforms for career development, digital skilling platform, and technology-based agribusiness program.

Expected Results:

P012994001: The expected outcomes of this project include: (1) improved capacity of young women and young men to adapt to ecological and environmental disasters; (2) increased resiliency of communities to climate change impacts; and (3) increased access to gender-responsive, environmentally-sensitive market-driven opportunities for livelihood and life skills among young people.

P012994002: The expected outcomes of this project include: (1) increased digital literacy among young women and men; (2) improved access to education and skills development; (3) increased entrepreneurship and job creation; and (4) improved access to agribusiness opportunities for young women and men.
