Grants and Contributions:
Outcome 1 – Sustained public demand for transparency, integrity and gender equality of politi-cal finance. Political will is a function of public demand. This outcome helps build that, so politicians failing to address political finance transparency and impaired democratic contestation between men and women face credible consequences.
Outcome 2 – Greater political engagement to upgrade political finance transparency regulations that are conducive to integrity and gender equality. This outcome engages political actors from within and outside the government (opposition and ruling political parties, parliamentary committees). It supports them in reform-oriented and enforcement capacity-strengthening to level the playing field in elections and preventing undue influence of private money in politics.
Outcome 3 - Innovations for the monitoring and implementation of political finance with gender lens. This outcome shall address methodological and technological gaps in the design of solutions to i) monitor, ii) estimate, or iii) report and disclose income or expenditures by candidates, political parties and third parties. These solutions will capture the financial positions men and women have when par-ticipating in politics.
The Office of Human Rights, Freedoms and Inclusion Programming supports international assistance initiatives aimed at promoting and protecting democratic values, institutions and processes.
