Description:
This project helps women and youth farmers in the Dry Corridor of Honduras. It aims to improve their lives by using a circular economy. Turning waste into resources addresses poverty, climate risk, and gender inequality. It encourages farmers to produce variety: not only coffee and cacao but also fruits, honey, poultry, vegetables, and tubers. The project teaches farmers how to be more resilient to climate change through technology and best practices. It also helps farmers get better access to technical, business, and financial services. The project promotes gender equity and human rights. Project activities include: (1) financial literacy and management training for women and young farmers; (2) workshops on gender equity, masculinity, and human rights; and (3) helping farmers connect with local and international markets. The project benefits women of different ages, socio-economic backgrounds, ethnicity and migratory status. It also benefits young farmers and micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises in agri-food; cooperatives; and associations.
