Grants and Contributions:
The expected outcomes for this project include:
(1) Increased women’s’ access to sexual and gender-based violence victim services and community level involvement in prevention of violent extremism (PVE) initiatives;
(2) enhanced provision of SGBV victim services to women by security and community actors in accordance with international gender and human rights standards and good practices;
(3) Strengthened multidimensional assistance (social, economic, health, legal, psychological etc.) and coordination between ecosystem actors (Internal Security Forces (ISF), Local Security Committees (LSCs), Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Women Leaders Network, etc.) at the local level to prevent violence against women and provide care for SGBV victims; (4) Increased awareness amongst women of their rights, the support services available to them, and the issue of VAW (including violence based on racial discrimination or disability as well as cyberviolence), and its role as a driver and consequence of VE.
(4) Enhanced technical and operational capacity of the Internal Security Forces (ISF) and specialized units to conduct effective investigations and provide care to VAW survivors through improvements to critical infrastructure, modernized equipment, and training on the linkages between VAW and PVE.

The Counter-Terrorism Capacity Building Program provides assistance to foreign states to enable them to prevent and respond to terrorist activity. It supports global efforts to fight terrorism and address terrorist threats to Canadians and Canadian interests throughout the world.
