Description:
This project aims to improve the realization of sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) for adolescent girls and young women (AGYW). It particularly targets those experiencing vulnerability, in Bolivia. Project activities include: (1) training on SRHR and related topics to strengthen associated programming and initiatives; and (2) improving the SRHR capacity of relevant actors, communities, and institutions to create change through material or technical support. Plan International Canada implements this project in 52 communities across 8 municipalities in 4 departments in Bolivia. It aims to contribute to Canada's 10-year global health and rights commitment.

Expected Results:

The expected outcomes of this project include: (1) enhanced agency of AGYW, particularly those experiencing vulnerability, to exercise their SRHR; (2) improved delivery of gender- and age-responsive and inclusive sexual and reproductive health services. This includes sexual and gender-based violence survivors, by the health system; and (3) enhanced responsiveness of local health and education governance mechanisms to adolescents' and young peoples’ SRHR needs, especially for AGYW.
