The expected outcomes of this project include: (1) improved research and evidence-based low-cost solutions for public health problems in resource-poor countries. This includes health risks related to climate change, sexual and reproductive health and rights, and maternal, child and newborn health and malnutrition, focusing on women and girls; (2) improved access to basic and gender-responsive clinical services for diarrheal diseases, malnutrition and support for humanitarian emergency response; and (3) strengthened management and sustainability of icddr,b.

The main purpose on the International Development Assistance Program is to reduce poverty for those living in countries where Global Affairs Canada engages in international development.
