Description:
The Green Corridor project will be implemented in five communes of the Baradères-Cayemites Complex in south-west Haiti. The project has the dual aim of adapting to climate change and conserving the biodiversity of the Baradères-Cayemites Complex, while contributing to the food security of the region's inhabitants, particularly women. The project's main implementation strategy is to stimulate the adoption, by women and their communities, of practices that protect, sustainably manage and restore ecosystems. The project also seeks to strengthen women's economic power and leadership in biodiversity conservation and the sustainable use of ecosystems. The project targets a total of 60,500 people directly, including 39,300 women and girls (65%). These people are mainly to be found in the communes of Baradères, Pestel, Espère section and Duquillon, Fonds d'Icaques in the commune of Corail, Grand Boucan and Cayemites Islands.

Expected Results:

Intermediate outcome 1100: Increased leadership of women in collaborative community development processes for the adoption of nature-based solutions and adaptation to climate change (ACC), with benefits for ecosystems and biodiversity (BD);

Intermediate result 1200: Increased participation of women in the conservation, restoration and sustainable use of ecological environments in target communities.

Intermediate Outcome 1300: Increased community and economic leadership by women to ensure a more favorable environment for the adoption of nature-based solutions as a strategy for CCA and biodiversity maintenance.
