Description:
The project aims to provide technical support to the new Haitian interim government and the Conseil Présidentiel de Transition (CPT) for the duration of their 20-month mandate. The project will target the following actions: 1) assist the interim government in establishing its structures and operations (technical expertise and capacity building); 2) support the government in identifying and prioritizing urgent challenges (security, economy, social services) and developing a realistic and measurable action plan; and 3) put in place transparent and accountable governance practices. The project will also offer specific support to women in leadership positions.

The project will focus on achieving the following results: 1) establishment of functional government institutions; 2) stabilization of the security and economic situation; 3) strengthening of public confidence and the legitimacy of the transition; 4) inclusive citizen participation in the transition; and 5) capacity-building for women in leadership positions in the interim government and key institutions.
