Description:
This project contributes to preventing atrocities in fragile and conflict-affected states and globally by supporting evidence-based transitional justice policies. The project develops research, generates data, and conducts training and outreach to improve assistance to victims and enhance the effectiveness of transitional justice mechanisms. While the scope is global, the project focuses on case studies. It closely examines the situations in Cambodia, Central African Republic, Colombia, Cote d’Ivoire, Guatemala, Iraq, Ethiopia, Sri Lanka, Haiti, and Myanmar.

Expected Results:
The expected outcomes for this project include: (1) increased use of data and measurements for the analyze, monitor and evaluate the impact of transitional justice mechanisms for diverse and vulnerable groups; and (2) increased understanding among policymakers and civil society groups of the attributes and qualities of transitional justice mechanisms that contribute to atrocity prevention, post-conflict peacebuilding, and broader rights protection for members of diverse and vulnerable groups.
