Description:
This project represents phase 3, building on 2 previous projects, and aims to provide funding to the World Institute for Nuclear Security (WINS). It seeks to train personnel and managers from the nuclear sector authorities globally using gender equality (GE) principles. The project focuses on promoting sustainable nuclear security practices in Latin America, South Africa and South-East Asia and certifying nuclear and radiological security professionals.

Expected Results:

The expected outcomes of this project include: (1) increased numbers of nuclear and radiological professionals trained and certified in nuclear and radiological security, achieving 40% of certified to women or people of diverse gender identities; (2) increased resilience to cybersecurity and physical site security threats; (3) improved institutional practices of GE in nuclear threat reduction; and (4) enhanced nuclear security competencies across Latin America by producing Spanish training materials and reaching globally, through multi-regional participation.
