Description:
The project aims to advance gender equality and the human rights of women and girls by strengthening Mongolia’s capacity to respond to gender-based violence. The project will work closely with civil society, the justice sector and government agencies in Mongolia to enhance their capacity to mainstream a victim-centred approach and implement systems of cooperation to combat gender-based violence. Activities include: (1) training delivered to primary advice and legal aid assistance providers to apply a victim-centred approach; (2) implementing public awareness campaigns with a specific focus on nomadic herder groups; (3) developing an operational model covering facilities, systems, processes, and information management relating to the specialized family courts in Mongolia; (4) implementing healthy relationship and life skills pilot program for adolescent boys.

Expected Results:

The expected outcomes for this project include: (1) strengthening the capacity of justice sector actors and government agencies to apply a multi-disciplinary and victim-centred approach to gender-based violence; (2) improving the delivery of essential services to victims of gender-based violence; (3) providing greater access to information for victims of gender-based violence about their rights and essential services.
