Description:
This is institutional support to the United Nations University - Institute for Water, Environment and Health (UNU-INWEH) to implement new 5-year strategy (2025 to 2030). This strategy focuses on expanding research, capacity-building, knowledge-sharing, and partnerships to address global challenges in water, environment, and sanitation. As part of this strategy, UNU-INWEH seeks to explore new areas of work, including the development of post-graduate degree programs, additional in-person and online courses, new UNU Hubs on academic campuses, and Technical and Vocational Education and Training programs in the Global South, with emphasis on the Indo-Pacific region. UNU-INWEH’s efforts contribute to achieving Sustainable Development Goal 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation) and align with the Feminist International Assistance Policy by prioritizing marginalized groups, particularly women, who are disproportionately impacted by water-related challenges. The expected activities of this project include: (1) strengthening capacity for policy-relevant research and education to address global water, environmental, and health challenges and developing initiatives to influence policy and communicate findings to academia and professionals; (2) expanding strategic partnerships to connect researchers, policymakers, and stakeholders to encourage the uptake of research and the delivery of evidence-based solutions; and (3) increasing visibility and impact through flagship reports, peer-reviewed publications, policy briefs, and institute-led events on international platforms.
