Description:
This project aims to increase accountability for sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) related crimes, including those linked to terrorism, in Nigeria and to improve access to justice for survivors. The project helps to institutionalize best practices for collecting, storing and using evidence in prosecution, fostering a culture of proper evidence use among law enforcement and justice actors in criminal cases.

Expected Results:
The expected outcomes of this project include: (1) increased collection of forensic evidence from SGBV victims visiting the Borno State Sexual Assault Referral Center; (2) increased number of SGBV investigations, including of terrorism-related cases by National Police Force and Joint Investigative Centre; and (3) increased number of SGBV cases adjudicated at the state and federal level.
