Description:
This project will seek to increase the capacity of countries in Central America to identify, investigate and adjudicate cybercrime. It will also promote a safe use of information and communication technologies (ICTs) by raising awareness of online risks. These objectives will be achieved through the implementation of activities tailored to each participating country, such as training to increase police and criminal justice capabilities to investigate and process cybercrime cases involving digital evidence and training to promote engagement with the private sector.

The expected outcomes for this project include: (1) Increased capability of law enforcement and justice institutions to identify, investigate, prosecute and judge cybercrime; (2) Raised awareness among communities and at-risk groups (women, children, people with disabilities, elderly) on cyber-related threats; (3) Strengthened cooperation between law enforcement and justice institutions with other stakeholders to identify, investigate and prosecute cybercrime.
