The proposed project aims to deliver technical equipment and training to strengthen Ukraine’s capacity to combat cybercrime and enhance its resilience to cyber-based and cyber-enabled threats, while supporting broader objectives to fortify the security and integrity of Canada’s critical infrastructure from abroad. These objectives will be achieved by strengthening criminal justice sector responses in Ukraine to enhance their ability to investigate, prosecute, and deter cybercrime as well as provide targeted support to improve Ukraine’s cybersecurity infrastructure.

The expected outcomes for this project include: (1) Enhanced capacity to investigate and prosecute cybercrime and crimes facilitated by the misuse of technology with a human rights approach. (2) Enhanced capacity to effectively seize, analyse and manage digital evidence in the investigation of cybercrime and crimes facilitated by the misuse of technology with a human rights approach. (3) Strengthened responses of law enforcement and criminal justice institutions to effectively cooperate in preventing, detecting, investigating and prosecuting cyberfraud. (4) Promote awareness and action to prevent cyber-enabled threats.
