The expected results of this project include: (1) increased access by experts in beneficiary countries to information resources on reducing the risks posed by radioactive sources outside of regulatory control; (2) increased awareness experts in beneficiary countries of legal and policy gaps for the control of radioactive sources; (3) increased awareness by experts in beneficiary countries of the importance of effective information-sharing networks to strengthen regulatory control over radioactive sources; and (4) increased number of countries that express political commitment to the Code and its supplementary Guidance, and that designate national Points of Contact for the Code.
