The expected results for this project include:1) Increased delivery of gender-informed, municipal-led local prevention strategies, policies or action plans in Africa, Asia and the Middle East, which prioritise collaborative (national-local) approaches to addressing hate, violent extremism and polarisation. 2)Increased dissemination globally of prevention-related learnings within and between cities, reinforcing Strong Cities’ global and local ecosystems of municipal leaders committed to addressing hate, violent extremism and polarisation, including online harms and radicalisation. 3) Strengthened national-local coordination in Africa, Asia and the Middle East, as participating cities engage.
The Counter-Terrorism Capacity Building Program provides assistance to foreign states to enable them to prevent and respond to terrorist activity. It supports global efforts to fight terrorism and address terrorist threats to Canadians and Canadian interests throughout the world.
