Grants and Contributions:
With the support of Canada and other donors, the FRF supports WROs/WLOs to save lives, alleviate suffering, and maintain human dignity during and in the aftermath of natural disasters and human-generated crises. Project activities include: (1) provision of gender-responsive life-saving protection and assistance such as food, water, sanitation, hygiene, shelter, non food items, health services, psychosocial support and prevention/response to gender-based violence, via WROs/WLOs; and (2) strengthening WLO/WRO participation and inclusion in humanitarian system mechanisms, such as those for needs assessments, coordination and response delivery.
The expected outcomes for this project include: (1) Provision of timely, appropriate, and gender-responsive critical assistance in crisis contexts; and (2) Local WROs/WLOs are better able to deliver effective, context specific, humanitarian services.
The main purpose on the International Development Assistance Program is to reduce poverty for those living in countries where Global Affairs Canada engages in international development.
