Grants and Contributions:
The project will develop a cadre of skilled analysts equipped with cutting-edge open-source investigative techniques applicable to the detection of Digital Transnational Repression operations being perpetrated against human rights defenders, activists, journalists and dissidents. The training facility will also create durable networks, connecting government analysts with civil society organizations, at-risk communities, and technical experts, fostering the whole-of-society approach necessary to counter these threats effectively. Ultimately, the DTNR Detection Facility will serve as a cornerstone of the G7’s commitment to protecting democratic values and human rights in the digital age, setting international standards for detection while strengthening the collective security of likeminded nations against authoritarian interference and overreach.
The Office of Human Rights, Freedoms and Inclusion Programming supports international assistance initiatives aimed at promoting and protecting democratic values, institutions and processes.
