Canada’s membership in the Vienna Convention and the Montreal Protocol is to further the Government of Canada’s foreign policy goals and provide it with a voice in the international community. Canada’s participation and contribution to achieving the objectives of the Vienna Convention and the Montreal Protocol is also of relevance to the Government’s overall agenda as outlined in the April 2006 Speech from the Throne, whereby the Government committed to take measures to achieve tangible improvements in our environment.
