Canadian SMEs have increased innovation capacity through increased knowledge and networking opportunities with potential international partnerships in global markets. This Program is linked to the Department’s Results Framework 2.2: Canadian exporters and innovators are successful in their international business development efforts.
The objective of CIIP is to support Canadian Companies in the development of technologies with potential for commercialization with international partners in countries where Canada has a ST&I Agreement.
Funding to CIIP Eligible Recipients support research, development, adoption and/or adaptation of innovative or technology-driven new or improved products, services or processes up their commercialization.
In general, CIIP supports GAC’s mandate to achieve increased economic opportunity for Canada and for Canadians at home and abroad. The Program directly supports the International Commerce Program Activity and International Services for Canadians Strategic Outcome outlined in GAC’s Program Alignment Architecture (PAA).
