Description:
This project, co-funded with the United Kingdom’s Ministry of Defence, will develop and deliver targeted capacity-building programs to strengthen the capacity of six priority countries (i.e. Brazil, Chile, Jordan, Kenya, the Philippines, and Singapore) to comply with and enforce the CBW control lists of the Australia Group. Activities include: 1) development of an implementation roadmap for each country, including assessing national capacities and developing tailored CBW control list materials; 2) delivery of tailored technical assistance through training and workshops; and 3) conduct an evaluation of the delivered activities and to conduct follow up mentoring as required.

Expected Results:

The expected result for this project includes: improved performance of customs administrations in beneficiary countries to adhere to and enforce the Australia Group’s controlled lists to regulate biological and chemical dual-use goods.

Program Purpose:

The purpose of the Weapon Threat Reduction Program is to reduce the threat posed by the proliferation and use of weapons of mass destruction and select conventional weapons
