Description:
This project aims to improve the climate resilience of communities in Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh. Project activities include: (1) providing liquified petroleum gas (LPG) cooking fuel and pressure cookers to Rohingya refugee families; significantly reduce firewood. This contributes to improved heath, safer living conditions and environmental recovery through reforestation; (2) helping avert deforestation in and around the refugee camps by ensuring a continued supply of LPG, which reduces the negative environmental impacts of relying on firewood, including loss of biodiversity, soil loss and decreased water quality; and (3) reducing the need for women, girls and boys to collect firewood in remote or unsafe spaces, protecting them from the risk of assault or abduction.
