Grants and Contributions:
The expected outcomes of this project include: (1) improved access to safe land and infrastructure for conflict-affected communities and humanitarian actors in Syria; (2) increased awareness of explosive ordnance contamination risks and improved ability of conflict-affected populations to identify and avoid hazardous areas; and (3) strengthened national and partner capacity for mine action coordination and regulation in line with international standards.
The Peace and Stabilization Operations Program (PSOPs) is the Government of Canada’s (GoC) platform for conflict prevention, stabilization and peacebuilding. It engages in fragile and conflict-affected states leveraging resources of, and partnerships with, multilateral institutions and like-minded nations. It effects its work through policy expertise, support to multilateral institutions, programming and deployments.
