Description:
The University of Alberta proposes a three-year, $442,000 scholarship and fellowship program to advance research collaboration in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Mechatronics with five leading Indo-Pacific universities: University of Queensland (Australia), Tohoku University (Japan), Nanyang Technological University (Singapore), Seoul National University (South Korea), and National Taiwan University. The initiative will fund 25 graduate student scholarships and 10 postdoctoral fellowships for research placements of 2–4 months, focusing on intelligent systems, robotics, healthcare AI, smart manufacturing, sustainable technologies, and ethical AI governance. According to the proposal, building on the University of Alberta’s global leadership in AI and robotics, the program aims to foster long-term partnerships, joint research outputs, and innovation aligned with Canada’s Indo-Pacific Strategy, while promoting responsible, human-centered technological development.?
