This project aims to increase gender equality and women’s leadership in climate mitigation and adaptation in Indonesia by strengthening women’s rights organizations and grassroots groups across 13 climate-vulnerable districts in eight provinces. The project will enhance household resilience, expand women-led green enterprises, and strengthen local value chains. Project activities include: (1) establishing capacity-strengthening and leadership programs for women’s rights organizations, grassroots groups and feminist leaders on gender-inclusive climate action; (2) providing business and technical training to women-led green enterprises to implement climate solutions; (3) engaging with government stakeholders to integrate gender equality and climate justice into policy decision.

The expected outcomes for this project include: (1) strengthened capacity, leadership, resilience, and collaboration of women’s rights organizations and feminist leaders to advocate for gender equality and climate justice; (2) enhanced ability of women’s rights organizations to sustain long-term policy and advocacy activities and increased leadership in women-led climate action; (3) increased integration of gender equality and women’s leadership in national and sub-national climate-related planning and policy.
