Description:
KLIMA strengthens the disaster and climate resilience of 2,400 women agri-entrepreneurs in priority value chains (cocoa, coffee and coconut) in disaster-prone rural areas in the Philippines. Through gender-responsive, disaster resilient agriculture, access to innovative disaster risk financing, and enhanced responsiveness of local communities, the initiative reduces vulnerability and strengthens livelihoods of women in Mindanao and the Eastern Visayas. The project will also generate positive spillover benefits for an estimated 36,000 indirect beneficiaries, primarily household members and employees, by improving land-use planning, local disaster resilience, and economic opportunities across agricultural value chains.

Expected Results:

The expected outcomes of this project include: (1) increased adoption of gender-sensitive, climate-resilient and disaster risk
reduction practices by active women in prioritized value chains, (2) reduced socio-economic vulnerability of active women in prioritized VCs, and (3) enhanced responsiveness of local communities and institutions to climate-related disasters.
