Description:
The project seeks to transform emerging market financial systems by empowering local institutions to adopt gender-based investing and mobilize capital that promotes inclusive and sustainable growth. It focuses on expanding 2X Global’s membership in developing regions, strengthening institutional capacity through training and peer-learning, and embedding gender-responsive policies, governance, and data systems. Activities include outreach campaigns, regional engagement, development of financial products that increase access for women-led enterprises & a Global Summit hosted in Canada for stakeholders to share wisdom and best practices. Ultimately, this initiative aims to drive systemic change by improving institutional alignment with the 2X Criteria, increasing women’s leadership representation, and scaling gender-responsive investment strategies.

Expected Results:

The expected outcomes of this project include: (1) Greater institutional alignment for women with the 2X Criteria and enhanced regional capacity to mobilise gender-responsive capital; (2) Greater deployment of 2X-aligned capital, improved access to finance for women-led enterprises, and increased representation of women in leadership and investment decision-making roles; and (3) Strengthened cross-regional collaboration and institutional capacity among emerging market stakeholders to develop and implement partnerships that drive inclusive and sustainable gender-responsive economic development.
