Description:
The project aims to help safeguard children’s right to safe, continuous, and quality learning by strengthening climate and disaster resilient Caribbean schools and education systems. The initiative will do so by integrating school safety into national policies, strengthening and retrofitting education infrastructure to adapt to climate change impacts, building capacity for disaster preparedness and psychosocial support, and promoting inclusive, violence-free learning environments.

The expected outcomes of this project include: (1) Increased application of climate-resilient, inclusive and gender-responsive standards within national education planning; (2) Enhanced implementation of climate-resilient risk reduction measures within curricula and school operations that recognise the different needs of boys and girls; (3) Improved delivery of the Caribbean Safe School Initiative in the Caribbean (CSSI).
