Description:
The project aims to collaborate with a select group of OSCE participating States to strengthen societal resilience to uphold state stability and sovereignty. It would address the root causes and drivers of intolerance and hate by countering harmful narratives and fostering conditions for constructive and peaceful relations among individuals and communities of diverse cultural and religious backgrounds, prioritizing support for communities most impacted by current international conflicts—such as Muslims and Jews—and those identified by OSCE’s annual hate crime reporting as most at risk of discrimination and security challenges. Project activities include: (1) updating existing curricula to include learning modules on dialogue, on how faith/religion or belief can support the promotion of human rights, and community cohesion; (2) conducting five trainings for criminal justice professionals to learn about hate crimes, hate crime victim support and training methods; (3) conducting three diagnostic workshops to identify gaps and providing recommendations for national-level improvements in hate crime recording, data collection and hate crime victim support; (4) carrying out six national meetings on the security of Christian, Jewish and Muslim communities to enhance co-operation between key stakeholders on addressing the security needs of these communities.
