Description:

This grant provides Canada’s institutional support to Grand Challenges Canada (GCC). GCC pools this funding with contributions from other donors to carry out its mission. GCC's mission is to 1) support innovators to develop, test and scale innovations, and 2) enable resources to flow at scale by investing in systems-level initiatives, to improve the health, wellbeing and survival among unserved and underserved populations, with an emphasis on women and girls, in countries eligible for Official Development Assistance, including those affected by conflict.

The project expected results are: 1) Increased use of innovations by end-users and intermediaries to drive gender-responsive impact at scale among unserved and underserved populations in countries eligible for Official Development Assistance, including those affected by conflict; and 2) Increased adoption of innovations by ecosystem actors and partners in countries eligible for Official Development Assistance, including those affected by conflict, with a focus on adoption of gender-responsive innovations.
