Grants and Contributions:
The project will strengthen the capacity of francophone universities to enhance the access, quality, and relevance of higher education, particularly in countries of the Global South. With Canada’s support, institutions will benefit from improved governance and digital transformation tools, better-trained faculty, and enhanced employability mechanisms for young people. These efforts are expected to increase employability, improve pedagogical quality, and expand scientific collaboration, while systematically integrating gender equality. In the long term, this initiative will contribute to more inclusive, innovative, and resilient higher-education systems across the francophone world, while reinforcing Canada’s strategic influence within the Francophonie and advancing its priorities in economic diversification, multilateral engagement, and sustainable development.
The main purpose on the International Development Assistance Program is to reduce poverty for those living in countries where Global Affairs Canada engages in international development.
