Description:
This project will operationalise the IMPACT WMD initiative to address the benefits and risks of rapidly evolving weapons of mass destruction relevant technologies (WMD-RT). It will establish a platform for horizon scanning, scenario development, technology sprints, and sustained stakeholder engagement, delivered in partnership with leading experts and innovators from governments, industry and academia. Project activities include: (1) development of shared principles and language, to include a unified lexicon and guiding principles for responsible WMD-RT development and deployment; (2) horizon scanning and scenario modeling to map technological trends, identify priority risk pathways, and test them through scenario-based activities that will generate briefing materials for decision-makers and; (3) technology sprints that will serve as the accelerator for IMPACT WMD by conceptualizing and supporting initiatives to enhance chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) prevention, detection and verification capabilities.
