Description:
This project seeks to protect and strengthen democracy across 33 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). It will support parliamentarians in more effective policy making on shared prosperity, economic resilience, and threats to democracy and hemispheric stability, and promote inclusive participation in decision-making. This will be achieved through knowledge sharing and technical assistance programming delivered at both regional and national levels to strengthen relevant capacities of parliamentarians, parliamentary staff, and youth and other civil society actors.

Expected Results:
The expected outcomes of this project include: (1) more meaningful participation of diverse women and youth in decision-making and political leadership through parliaments in Latin America and the Caribbean; (2) strengthened institutional practices to uphold and enhance democratic governance and regional stability in Latin America and the Caribbean; and (3) more effective parliamentary action in Latin America and the Caribbean on development issues related to shared prosperity and threats to democracy and hemispheric stability like insecurity, social inequalities, and climate change.
