Grants and Contributions:
• promotion of the comprehensive and sustainable implementation of UNSCR 1540 obligations by national authorities and other key stakeholders;
• enhanced export and border controls in beneficiary countries, with improved capacity to prevent, combat and respond to the misuse of chemical, biological, and nuclear materials by non-state actors;
• increased submissions of National Actions Plans to the 1540 Committee by beneficiary countries;
• preparation of WMD non-proliferation related legislation for submission to national authorities;
• enhanced capacity of beneficiary countries to identify and interdict proliferation-related offenses and to counter proliferation financing through strengthened risk analysis techniques; and,
• heightened awareness of the importance of biosafety and biosecurity, as well as effective border controls and measures to counter terrorism and proliferation financing.
