Description:
P008217001: The initiative will contribute to Canada's coordinated response to the Ebola outbreak in eastern DRC. The project will help strengthen or rebuild the weak health system in 22 zones at risk for the Ebola, not only to prepare them for the possible spread of the disease, but to increase supply, demand and quality of health services for vulnerable populations, including girls and women, living in this conflict zone. This development project will work in coordination with humanitarian efforts in the DRC. P008217002: This project's component provides additional funding to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic response in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). This project aims to strengthen the coordination of national and provincial actors, and supports health structures and communities in the city of Kinshasa and provinces at risk of COVID-19 outbreak. This component of the project is being implemented in the health zones of the city of Kinshasa, which has an estimated population of 12 million, and 9 at-risk provinces (Kongo Central, Kwilu, Kwango, Mai-Ndombe, Kasaï, Haut-Katanga, Tshopo, Nord-Kivu and Sud-Kivu).
