Grants and Contributions:
Project activities are primarily focused on building the capacity of the Armenian National Assembly with an aim to achieving more inclusive, gender sensitive and accountable performance of parliamentarians in the delivery of their legislative, oversight and representation functions. This includes a concerted effort to strengthen engagement with the citizenry of Armenia through a series of roundtable discussions with groups representing women, youth and other marginalised communities, to create awareness of reforms within the Administration and to introduce mechanisms to provide inputs in to these reforms. Funding will support the development of a new organizational structure and a framework for the administration of parliament, one which focuses on gender equality, inclusivity and accountability; training of parliamentary staff to effectively support parliamentarians, and; providing opportunity for broader international exchange and practical experience for senior parliamentarians and managers.
The value of the agreement is changed to $781,151 CAD, The end date is changed to 2024-03-31.
The Office of Human Rights, Freedoms and Inclusion Programming supports international assistance initiatives aimed at promoting and protecting democratic values, institutions and processes.
