Description:
The CoDECo project aims to transform political awareness and engagement among Colombian civil society through civic education and strengthened resilience to politically-motivated disinformation campaigns which threaten democratic processes, specifically elections. The project will develop quality gender-responsive civic education and media literacy programming for delivery through the formal education system (grades 6-11) in 5 key districts in Colombia. A second track of work will provide gender-sensitive civic education and media literacy tools, training and resources for education stakeholders and professionals in country.

Expected Results:

The project will contribute to, improved democratic practices and habits among school-aged youth in Colombia; enhanced integration of quality, gender-responsive civic education and media/information literacy programming by teachers and formal education systems, and; increased leadership and harmonization of approaches and best practices in gender-responsive civic education and media/information literacy by education stakeholders and other relevant actors.
