Description:
The project aims to empower women and girls in three targeted sectors in the Huye District of Rwanda. The project will directly target single women or widows and children living in extreme poverty and will aim to implement a multi-sectoral approach to achieve results. It will jointly address the priority basic needs identified by women, namely health and education, will strengthen the capacity and development of economic activities for women and will increase community awareness and knowledge of women and children's rights and gender equality.

Expected Results:
The expected outcomes for this project include: (1) improved living conditions of women and their children in order to preserve the human dignity of the most vulnerable populations; (2) increased active participation and significant contribution of women in job creation, economic growth and development within their community; (3) increased practices for the promotion and defense of women's and children's rights in the community and the adoption of positive behaviors, including the enhancement of the role of women and positive masculinity.
