Description:
This project aims to procure, deliver and install three CT scanners to three public hospitals in Egypt serving the lower to lower-middle income populations, which include the 1) Kafr El Zayat General Hospital (Lower Egypt); 2) Monofia General Hospital (Upper Egypt); and 3) Imbaba General Hospital (Greater Cairo). The project will also see the provision of will also of training to hospital staff on operating and maintaining the scanners. This project intends to provide health services to the over 20 million inhabitants, including poor and vulnerable women and men, living in the densely-populated and urban governorates of Gharbia, Monofiya & Giza.

Expected Results:

The expected results of this project include: 1) building resilience to health-related crises and shocks in order to safeguard development gains in Egypt during the COVID-19 pandemic; and 2) increase CT screening services in 3 main public hospitals serving the poorest and most affected population of Gharbia, Monofia & Giza governorates.
