Description:
This project seeks to develop the awareness and capacity of local women’s groups in Morocco to improve their approach to the prevention, rehabilitation, and reintegration of women involved in or impacted by violent extremism, terrorism, and other forms of conflict and political violence. Project activities will include the training of up to 100 frontline staff working across 30 grassroots civil society groups that are members of the Iscar Coalition for Equality and Empowerment, an umbrella organization of over 30 women’s civil society organizations in Morocco.

Expected Results:

The frontline training program will aim for civil society organizations to:
i) identify the gendered risks, vulnerabilities and protective factors amongst women related to radicalization and recruitment to violent extremism;
ii) recognize the risks, vulnerabilities, needs and protective factors among women at risk, involved in, or impacted by violent extremism in Morocco;
iii) design, implement, and appraise interventions to effectively and appropriately respond to and address concerns of radicalization and recruitment to violent extremism in line with international standards of good practice.
