Description:
This project aims to strengthen women's leadership among state and justice institutions across coastal Kenya in preventing or countering violent extremism (P/CVE). It seeks to achieve this through activities that foster institutional and cultural shifts that promote women's inclusion and create an enabling environment for women's leadership in P/CVE. The project aims to strengthen collaboration between women in security and justice roles and local communities. It does so through community security dialogues and specialized P/CVE training for security and justice actors. The project also seeks to provide leadership training and a mentorship program for women in security and justice institutions. These activities aim to build trust, encourage cooperative security measures, and integrate women's perspectives into broader P/CVE strategies.

The expected outcomes of this project include: (1) increased representation of women in leadership and decision-making roles in P/CVE within security and justice institutions; and (2) demonstrated effectiveness of women-led, inclusive P/CVE initiatives.
