Description:
The project Building a Greener Energy Future for Canada and India (BGEF-CI) is led by the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières (UQTR) in partnership with the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras), with the participation of the Université de Montréal (Canada) and IIT Jammu and Pondicherry University (India). The project aims to strengthen long-term Canada–India collaboration in clean energy research, training, and knowledge sharing through the development of next-generation artificial photosynthesis systems for the production of solar fuels and solar chemicals. By combining Canadian and Indian expertise in green energy technologies, supramolecular chemistry, hydrogen production, and carbon dioxide conversion, the project seeks to support climate action, sustainable development, and innovation in both countries. The initiative will create a Canada–India network of researchers, students, and stakeholders through joint research activities, highly qualified personnel (HQP) training, student exchanges, workshops, knowledge-sharing events, and collaborative proposal development. The project will foster scientific excellence while contributing to the development of future clean-energy solutions relevant to both countries and the broader Indo-Pacific region.
